The Supermicro RSC-UMR-8 is a genuine right-hand-side riser card designed for select Supermicro Ultra-series rackmount servers. Its space-saving design provides one low-profile PCI Express 3.0 x8 expansion slot and one hybrid M.2 storage connection within a compact 1U server configuration. The hybrid M.2 connection supports either a compatible PCIe NVMe or SATA M.2 solid state drive, depending on the server configuration, motherboard support and installed cabling. This allows compatible systems to add internal solid state storage while retaining a PCIe x8 slot for a network adapter, storage controller or another supported low-profile expansion card.
