Star Trek: Captain's Chair (1997) is a PC/Mac simulation and virtual tour program bySimon & Schuster Interactive that allows users to explore the bridges offive iconic Federation starships in 360-degree, interactive 3D. It features detailed,fully voiced, click-able consoles from the Original Series, TNG, DS9, Voyager,and First Contact ships.

• Included Ships: The USS Enterprise (NCC-1701), USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-D), USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-E), USS Defiant (NX-74205), and USS Voyager (NCC-74656).
• Interactive Tours: Users can sit in the captain's chair, interact with consoles, and view external shots, with tours narrated by characters like Sulu, Worf, Riker, Sisko, and Janeway.
• Components: Each ship features clickable hot spots for phasers, scanners, and PADDs.

The Game

Star Trek: Captain's Chair is a virtual reality tour of the bridges of five of the most famous starships in the Star Trek universe. Featured are the bridges seen in Star Trek: The Original Series, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager, and the Sovereign-class first seen in Star Trek: First Contact.

The following bridges are featured:

USS Defiant (NX-74205)

USS Voyager (NCC-74656)

USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-E)

While on each bridge, the "visitor" can interact with full 360 degree views, along with the ability to control each and every station including (but not limited to):

Command chair

Engineering at each station, the user may issue with station-specific commands such as firing photon torpedoes from tactical, or a security lockout from the engineering station.

The user is not limited to each starship's bridge, as one can visit adjacent locations such as the captain's ready room and observation lounge. The captain's chair on each starship bridge also features buttons that reveal personal greetings from actors who narrate the tour of each bridge, such as George Takei, Avery Brooks, and Kate Mulgrew.

There are several easter eggs on each bridge, such as visiting the bridge of a Klingon Bird-of-Prey, with a limited (and translated) interface, and a tribble on the floor, as well as a "memory"-style game matching similar weaponry and equipment.
