PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

Universal Serial Busis an industry standard that defines cables, connectors and communicationsprotocols for connection, communication, and power supply between computers anddevices.

USB was designed to standardize the connection ofcomputer peripherals (including keyboards, pointing devices, digital cameras,printers, portable media players, disk drives and network adapters) to personalcomputers, both to communicate and to supply electric power. It has largely replaced a variety of earlierinterfaces, such as serial ports and parallel ports, as well as separate powerchargers for portable devices – and has become commonplace on a wide range ofdevices.

This USB cable has a data transfer of 3.0 – Super HighSpeed and is backwards compatible. USB3.0 provides better speed and more efficient power management than 2.0, USB 3.0– Super High Speed with USB 2.0 devices; however, data transfer speeds arelimited to USB 2.0 levels when these devices inter-operate.

Its A-socket connector provides a “downstream”connection that is intended for use solely on host controllers and hubs. It was not intended for use as an “upstream”connector on a peripheral device. This iscritical because a host controller or hub is designed to provide 5V DC power onone of the USB pins. Though not thatcommon, A-A cables are used to connect USB devices with an A-Style Female portto a PC or another USB device and for data transfer between two computersystems.

Only this type of AM to AM cable use in the USBstandard is for bridges used to connect two computers together. When two computers are connected with an A-male– A-male cable there will be no power current and no danger of failure. Extensions are prohibited by the code becauseof cable length requirements of USB.
