Ferrite Core Memory ROM Board manufactured in the USSR in 1980s
Plate size (approx): about 4,7 x 3,3 inches
Weight: about 2,12 ounces
18 x 20 ferrite cores array is protected with metal laminas. There are five holes in each ferrite round core. Copper wires are skipped through holes: three wires -- through the bigger central hole and two ones -- through four the rest smaller holes
The multi-hole magnetic resistance modulation core is a special storage element, the information in which is not destroyed when read. Unlike the classic biax, it has five holes, rather than two mutually perpendicular ones.
The board along with 2 diode matrices each of 20 diodes is one of 32 boards forming a ferrite core memory cube.
The presented item has been removed from the military computing device. On Pic.11-12 one can see undismantled cube as a part of long-term storage device from Onboard Digital Computer of jet fighter.
