This sale is for 1 Overland RARE 9 track portable computer tape drive. This records and plays back and was mainly used to transfer data from one mainframe to another, or as a stand alone unit. Not many of these were made. In fact I know of only one other; in Curious Marks collection (see him on YouTube) This is in fantastic condition (almost as new), the tape heads look brand new, however is not working. The self diagnostic works and all the lights sequence, the door lock makes a loud sound but does not lock and the alert light will flash at the end of the sequence. It is being sold as is...non working. It does include two cables also (only one shown). This is both Parallel port and SCSI port enabled. It may be a simple fix, however I do not know.A neat piece of computing history.The photos are of the actual item for sale.This item weighs aprox. 65 pounds, measures 23 1/2 inches tall by 18 inches wide, by 5 inches deep ( 9 inches with the built in stand) and is for pickup only.
