Vintage Apple Power Macintosh 6100/60AV desktop computer, model M1596.
The computer powers on, the front power indicator illuminates, and it produces the normal Macintosh startup chime. It was connected to a compatible vintage Apple monitor and successfully produced a video image.
During an earlier test, the computer stopped at the flashing question-mark disk icon. On a later test the following day, it successfully started Mac OS and reached the desktop. Photos showing the actual startup process and loaded operating system are included in the listing.
No keyboard or mouse was available, so no additional software, ports, drives, or system functions were tested. Because the startup results were inconsistent, the computer may require service, cleaning, adjustment, internal battery replacement, hard-drive repair, or other maintenance.
The CD-ROM tray opens and closes. Its ability to read discs was not tested.
The computer appears to retain its original Apple OEM internal components, including:
• Apple-labeled Quantum ProDrive LT 350MB SCSI hard drive
• AppleCD 300i Plus CD-ROM drive manufactured by Sony
• Apple AV video hardware
• Apple OEM power supply, part number 614-0022
• Other internal components shown in the photos
Two plastic mounting clips/tabs on the top cover are broken. The broken pieces are present and will be included. The cover may not attach or secure exactly as originally designed.
The case has yellowing, dirt, writing, scratches, scuffs, and other cosmetic wear consistent with age and storage. Please review all photos carefully for the exact condition and included components.
This vintage computer has not been fully tested, diagnosed, or repaired. The hard drive, CD-reading function, floppy drive, ports, audio/video inputs and outputs, internal battery, and all other unmentioned functions remain untested.
