They are perfect for Vintage / Retro systems that don't need, or can't handle, larger, more expensive drives.
Note- WD’s Fluid Dynamic Bearings in the motor make them quieter than competing drives.
Ofcourse, today’s huge, expensive hard drives have superior performance, but intheir day these were Highly Regarded drives. Storage Review said this about them:
