Linux is a different Operating system than Windows or Chrome. Most things work on this laptop with Linux, but we cannot guarantee ALL functionality works(linux may need additional drivers for some components).As a seller we are not responsible for quirks or oddities with Linux. You can try another version by creating a bootable installer(google rufus create bootable USB for instructions.IF this flavor doesn't work for your needs, try one of the many dozens of flavors of Linux out there, or your preferred one - simply hit ESC at startup to get to the boot menu and boot to your USB drive.ChromeOS is 100% REMOVED(as these laptops are now end of updates from Google), new firmware has been installed, you can now boot most any OS(we have tested Windows 10(has no trackpad drivers, works ok with USB mouse, and a dozen different linux variations). Ubuntu and Mint seem to work the best. When new, the trackpads on these laptops were described as mushy.
