You will receive a new Orange Pi Zero 3 (similar to a Raspberry Pi) single boardcomputer (SBC) with custom case, power adapter, and preconfigured/installedMicroSD card running the Ad blocking DNS software. The SBC was removed from the box to be placed in the case and tested to ensure the software and device work. Ubuntu 22.04 (Jammy Jellyfish) is the base OS. Adguard DNS ad blocking software has been preinstalled to the SD cardby defaultbut Pi-Holead blocking softwarecan be installed by request instead of AdGuard.
This AdGuard/PiHole ad blocking device arrives outfittedwith premium specs. It's powered by an Allwinner H616 SOC 64-bit quad-core (4)ARM Cortex-A53 CPU capable of running at up to 1.3GHz it has 1GB of RAM, USB port, gigabit ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity.
You need to have some basic computer/networking knowledge to configure your network to use this device. We will provide basicsetup instructions with the box and walk you through configuration to get youad free fast. This does need to be wired by ethernet to yourrouter/modem/switch for optimum performance.
An AdGuard/Pi-hole device is a highly configurable and essential tool to help keepyour family and network safe online, by blocking ads, Malware, Hackers, Explicit Material, Scams and Phishing sites.
The device comes configured with 500k+ web domains on theblock lists. You can easily add and enable more entries to the blacklist as desired by simply clicking a box in the user interface.
AdGuard & Pi-hole protect your devices from unwantedcontent without needing to install any client-side ad blocking software. It does this by preventing devices fromconnecting to servers that host these ads and trackers. This means it can work on smart TVs and inad-supported mobile apps. Once installed on your network and your router isconfigured to use the device as your DNS, your entire network including phones,gaming consoles/devices, tablets and computers are all protected. Your Internetwill run faster and use less bandwidth because your devices aren’t automaticallydownloading ads.
Note: AdGuard and Pi-hole cannot block native ads on certainsuch as YouTube, Netflix and Hulu because they are on the same server as the videocontent you want to watch.
The Box can run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week without anyproblems and uses little power (<5W) and is totally silent due to a fan-lessdesign. The software is run on the trusted Ubuntu 22.04 (Jammy Jellyfish)server with security updates set to automatically install.
The device comes with a responsive web user interfacedashboard to view and control your device from any web browser on your network.
Setup is easy with the included instructions. User/Root access is available over WebUI and SSH with login credentials on a sticker attached to the device.
