    Speed explanation and testing:

It is important to understand the difference between network file transfer speed and throughput speed to the Internet. Broadband companies in the United States offer speeds varying between 6 mbps and 100+ mbps. The average customer will get about 25-50 mbps offered by their ISP but may find even with a hardwired Ethernet cable connection they only get 20-30 mbps in a speed test. Broadband providers note in the small print that the speed they advertise is their max speed. But even with a max speed of 50 mbps, if you are the only user on your network you won’t see any difference in download speed whether you use this 1900 mbps product or a slower one with a max of 300 mbps.

You will see a big difference if the network has a number of users (provided the router to which you are connecting is 1900 mbps capable). If you use this adapter with an older 150 or 350 mbps 802.11n router, this adapter can only connect as fast as the router allows. If the network has a number of users and the router is 1900 mbps capable, using a quad antenna receiver like this one maximizes your throughput connections to the router giving you better overall performance.
