Apple Genius “To the Crazy Ones” “Think Different” Advertising Campaign Graphic

This Apple Genius “To the Crazy Ones” graphic was created by Apple Computer as part of Think Different advertising campaign in conjunction with Steve Jobs’ return to Apple. Apple worked very closely with educators and developed the \"Educators Set”. “To the Crazy Ones” was printed on the backside of the \"Educators Set” packaging materials sent to selected US educators and to authorized Apple Computer dealers in the late 1990’s

One of Steve Job’s top priorities was the renewal of Apple’s image. Lee Clow and his team from TBWA Chiat/Day advised that Apple should be aligned with the creativity of personalities and people making an impact on the twentieth century. They presented a new slogan and for Apple’s advertising ads: “Think Different”. The \"Think Different\" campaign provided an opportunity to celebrate both the creativity of these people but also the distinctiveness of Apple in the computing world, responding to IBM’s historic campaign motto, \"Think\"

The Think Different campaign consisted of two main parts, there were television commercials and a print campaign.

The Apple Genius “To the Crazy Ones” Think Different Advertising Graphic is very rare as it wasn’t made available to the general public. At that time Apple had lost hundreds of millions of dollars and cut thousands of jobs.

The Apple Genius “To the Crazy Ones” “Think Different” Advertising Campaign \"Educators Set” packaging material measures 17 1/2 inches long by 11 1/2 inches wide by 7/8 inch thick. On the backside is printed:

To the crazy ones

“Here\'s to the crazy ones.

The misfits.

The rebels.

The troublemakers.

The round pegs in the square holes.

The ones who see things differently.

They\'re not fond of rules.

And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them,

disagree with them, glorify or vilify them.

About the only thing you can\'t do is ignore them.

Because they change things.

They Invent. They imagine. They heal.

They explore. They create. They inspire.

They push the human race forward.

Maybe they have to be crazy

How else can you stare at an empty canvas and see a work of art?

Or gaze at a red planet and see a laboratory on wheels.

We make tools for those for those kinds of people.

Because while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius.

And it’s the people who are crazy enough to think they can

change the world, actually do.”

“To the crazy ones” graphic includes pictures of Pablo Picasso, Albert Einstein, John & Yoko, Jane Goodall, Mahatma Ghandi and Miles Davis.
