Apple II VIDEX VideoTerm & Soft Video Switch 80 Col auto switcher Combo pack
Price: US $79.99

I am selling a brand reproduction Videx VideoTerm 80 col video card & Soft Video Switch (80/40 Column video auto switcher) for the Apple II and Apple II plus.

Unlike competitors this Softswitch comes COMPLETE with wiring harness. Plug it in and go. No need to wire it up yourself!

With this board you no longer have to switch the video connection on your Apple II between the 80 column video out on your Videx 80 col card and your onboard Apple II 40 column video signal.

In tandem with a Z80 softcard you can run CP/M Natively in 80col using this video card system. See photos!

NOTE:: With these boards you can now run Apple Works on your Original Apple II and Apple II plus (contact me if you want to know how and see photo for demonstration- Apple II computer not included).

These boards are made of all new components and are built and tested complete with wiring harness. Plug it in and you are up and running in 1 minute.

This Modernized softswitch board was designed by. And all credit for the design and implementation goes to him!

You need to supply the Apple II or II plus computer and the Videx video card or clone, this Soft Video switch does the rest.

Installation.

1)Turn the Apple ll off and remove the cover.

2) Locate the IC chip at location F14 on the motherboard. lt is the second chip down from the game l/O socket. The chip is either a 9334 or a 74LS259 (This chip is not included as its already part of your apple II and your system cant boot without it). Carefully remove this chip with an IC puller or a small flat bladed screwdriver. Set this chip aside.

3) Plug the Soft Video Switch into the F-14 socket. The Pin header connectors should face towards the keyboard.

4)Connect the 80 col single wire to the second pin down on your videx card or clone.. see photo.

5)Connect the video input in signal wires from the Apple II mainboard. It is the 4 pin connector just behind the Apple II onboard video out jack. You want to connect to the two inner pins with the Yellow paint FACING the onboard video out jack on the mainboard.

6)Make sure the main wire harness of the soft switch has the yellow paint facing up towards the LIDand make sure all your connections are correct! See photos and message me for any help or questions.

I have been selling on for over 23 years. Please see my response and contact me with any questions before making a purchase.
