Apple IIe Card Splitter Board (Partial Replacement for 590-0703-A, Read)
This is a Solder it yourself kit for owners of the Apple IIe card that goes into the PDS slot of a computer, the part number on that card is:
820-0444-A
This kit has some limitations over the original Y cable. It is meant for the connection of a FloppyEmu drive emulator from Big Mess O'Wires, and so it does not have connections for 12 volt power for an actual Floppy Disk Drive. Also, it uses the older style 20 pin header because this connector is more easily available.
The adaptor also allows a Joystick to be plugged in, which is a pretty important feature for an Apple II of any kind.
This kit requires some skill at soldering through hole components. There are no surface mount components, and it's quite a simple board, so I would expect that a beginnerwould be able to get a functional result.
The first picture shows the unsoldered kit items you will receive. The rest of the pictures show the assembled kit, with the final two pictures showing what the board looks like plugged into the back of a Macintosh LC computer. (for reference only, your order will arrive unsoldered)
I'm sorry, but I cannot confirm fit for any other models of Macintosh that are compatible with the Apple IIe PDS Card. If you buy one of these and test it with another model, please let me know and I will update this listing.
Also, note this is an open source hardware design, and the files are
