Commodore 64 Lot with 1541 Disk Drive, Joystick, Keelog PSU, Games & More Works
Price: US $570.00
*** WILL CONSIDER BEST OFFERS ***Whether you are new to the Commodore 64 or getting back into it, you want a system that has been fully tested and ready to go. This is that system. Everything has been gone through, cleaned and tested to be working. A few parts such as the power supply and video cable have been upgraded to "better than new" components. You can enjoy retro computing and retro gaming out of the box with this setup. Below is a list of everything that is included:
  • Commodore 64 computer (Rev. 250407 - 1983)
  • Commodore 1541 Disk Drive
  • Wico "The Boss" Joystick
  • Keelog C64 Classic Power Supply
  • Dust Covers for Computer and Disk Drive
  • Lot of 29 diskettes
  • All required cables and cords
  • Extra package of fuses
  • Original Video Cable
  • Upgraded Video Cable from 8-Bit Classics
NOTE: Monitor and speakers are NOT included! Only shown in the listing photos for demonstration.Commodore 64 ComputerThe computer was produced in 1983 by Commodore and has the 250407 main board. I have gone through this computer inside and out and everything has been cleaned and checked. The space bar has some discoloration as shown in the photos, but everything works. Many of the major chips have been converted to sockets for easy troubleshooting and replacement. Additional sockets are included for the remaining chips, and can be installed if desired. This would require experience with a soldering iron and desoldering techniques. The computer is in good working condition.
Commodore 1541 Disk Drive
This is a Mitsumi / Newtronics produced version of the popular 1541 Disk Drive. It has the more reliable lever release mechanism. It includes a 3-prong grounded IEC power cord and the DIN cable to connect to the computer. The drive is in good working condition.
WICO "The Boss" JoystickRe-live those Commodore 64 classics with "The Boss" joystick from WICO. Please note that many Commodore games require connecting the joystick to Port 2, however if that does not work, simply move the connector to Port 1. The joystick has been cleaned with disinfectant and works well.
Keelog C64 Classic Power Supply
The original Commodore 64 "black brick" power supply should NEVER be used! They have no over voltage or over current protection and are known to drift out of spec with age. The Keelog C64 power supply was designed from scratch as a high-quality replacement for the original power supply. The Commodore 64 version contains a +5V/2.0A DC switching power module with an anti-ripple filter, along with a true transformer-based 9V/1.1A AC module. The Keelog C64 power supply has a sturdy custom-made case with an elegant LED-illuminated logo. The Classic version has a compact size of just 86 mm x 70 mm x 48 mm (3.4" x 2.8" x 1.9"). Fully fused and electrically protected, with round DIN7 plug matching the original C64 PSU pinout. It is smaller, lighter, and provides cleaner output than the original - this is truly "better than new."Dust CoversIncluded with this sale are two dust covers included for the Computer and for the Disk Drive. The covers are brown with white lettering on top. They appear to be a vinyl material. The covers were produced by Classic Covers in Provo, Utah, which is long out of business.
Upgraded Video Cable from 8-Bit Classics
This lot includes the original Commodore 64 video cable and an upgraded cable that I purchased from 8-Bit Classics. This connects the Commodore's 8-pin DIN AV Connector to either an S-Video connector or Composite Video RCA and Stereo Audio. It also includes a 300-ohm resistor built into the cable which offers better picture quality when used with an LCD monitor. It doesn't make much difference on a standard CRT monitor or TV. The upgraded video cable can be used with an RCA to HDMI converter (not included) to connect to a modern display with HDMI input. Cable is 5 feet in length.
