This is a DIY mod that involves opening up your steam deck, remove the heatsink, cleaning the thermal paste, and replacing it with this thermal pad. The thermal pad is pre-cut to fit the steam deck. It has greatly improved my thermals (same temps but at a much lower fan speed) and MAY do the same for you as well.

I have personally tested this on the Steam Deck LCD and Steam Deck OLED variant, and it works great.

It is important to note that this is a phase change thermal pad and not a dry thermal pad or a paste. This means that this product is not a typical solid pad but instead a more semi-solid paste pad which will, upon heating, melt and change phase. At room temperature, and body temperature, the pad may break up or become less-solid. While you want to minimize this, as long as you cover the metal service as much as you can, the pad will spread and cover the gaps. If you do manage to break apart the pieces during the install you can piece it back together, just cover as much metal as you can. Some tips I\'ve seen include: refrigerate to cool the pad and make it more solid while installing; using a blade to separate the plastic from the pad.

Please follow the official iFixIt guide to remove the heatsink, then clean with isopropyl alcohol and apply the pre-cut thermal pad between the heatsink and chip.
