This system is well beyond what a Windows 98 SE system would typically be. Over the years I've slowly mastered being able to put 98 on newer and newer systems that were never really intended for it. Gathering skills and drivers and tools to be able to really push the limits.This system is the result of that, and these are the newest/fastest systems I've built yet.
If you can find something newer, faster, and more durable with Windows 98SE on it available, I'd be genuinely interested to see it.Windows 98SE installed with all updates plus some extras for wider compatibility and stability. Also includes some nice to have features like 7zip for working with compressed files, Direct X 9.0c, Universal USB drivers which allows use of most flash drives up to 128GB for easy transfer of large files and more.Based around ultra durable Gigabyte GA-G31M-ES2L motherboards. Highly respected brand for durability which is of course desirable when running older systems. More features include:

(This limit is theoretically able to be broken if you have a program that requires it, not recommended unless explicitly needed.)
80GB SATA hard drives - newer tech and easier to find parts in the future vs PATA style. Can utilized any SATA drive up to 2TB, and also supports PATA drives if usage of an older drive is needed.
G31 Intel ICH7 Northbridge chipset
Creative Soundblaster Live! Sound card installed - Works fantastically - Great sound, EAX capable. Also allows you to play nearly any game created for Windows 98, plus able to play many DOS games from right within windows with sound which is not common.
(Music set to general midi and SFX soundblaster works for the DOS settings setup of many games, Doom, Hexxen and Heretic already set up and included!)
(*If you want this system only for Industrial purposes and do not need sound this card can be removed to lower price.)
(*If you need Ethernet, this card can be swapped for an Ethernet card easily for no additional cost, I have many 10/100 cards available.)
Nvidia NV280 - one of the absolute last Nvidia cards to be supported - uses DB59 dual output connectors - Supports one or TWO monitors! These are 64mb & 64bit DDR type, Direct X 9.0 cards. Maximum resolution goes pretty high. Can either clone or extend desktop for running multiple programs/windows.
Also of course plenty of horsepower for any Windows 98 game or DOS gaming.
DVD rom used extensively for setup on each of these systems and no problems on any of them. All eject & read well.USB 2.0 fully functional! Use almost any flash drive up to 128GB in size! Four rear ports on the motherboard
(the front two on the case are not connected.)
Each system extensively tested and working well. All in good cosmetic condition on external cases, some scratches and dings on a few to be expected. Interiors are almost like new, generally little to no dust on most of these systems, almost like new still internally mostly as you can see in the photos.
Extremely fast and capable systems built on newer hardware you won't find nearly anywhere else.
