Very Rare 1978 Centronics Microprinter S1 Serial ESD Silver Paper Printer Vintag
Price: US $349.95
This listing is for a Very Rare Vintage 1978 Centronics Microprinter Model S1 Serial ESD Printer.ESD or ElectroStatic Discharge printers print by using electric sparks to vaporize a thin layer of aluminum on a \"silver paper\" roll. In later years, similar printers were made for the TRS-80 and Timex Sinclair computers, but the Centronics was the first. It is in excellent vintage condition, with very little discoloration and just minor scuffs & scratches. It powers up and advances paper, but is otherwise otherwise untested and sold as-is, as we have no drivers and no DB15 to DB9 adapter (though if we can get hold of the pin assignments, we\'ll update this listing). However, as the pictures show, it was printing when last used. These are very rare and hard to find - the only other one that we know of is in the Computer History Museum, in San Jose CA (mis-labelled as a \"Microprinter 51\").This is possibly the only one that\'s ever been on the market - don\'t let it get away!
