Vintage 1986 IBM 1389262 Model M buckling spring terminal keyboard -1 keycap
Price: US $150.00
Here is a clicky IBM Model M keyboard, made in the USA in May of 1986.Please note that this is an IBM 1389262 with a different 5-pin DIN connector than the more common Model M keyboards. This one has 24 function keys at the top and 10 on the left, for use with an IBM terminal It uses the same famous buckling spring mechanisms and 2-piece keycaps as the more common IBM Model M keyboards for the IBM AT and PS/2 personal computers When I first saw this, I thought it was missing many keycaps. However, the 1389262 came without top keycaps for the four keys above the numeric keypad, two of the left function keys, and a couple of other places. I believe that there is only one keycap that is missing: the Cmd13 keycap in the upper left. The 2-position height adjustment legs work as designed. I do note that the school district which originally used this keyboard etched their name into the left end, and that one of the small rubber squares on the bottom is missing. Otherwise, this is complete.Buyer will receive the exact keyboard pictured here. I have not opened it up, and gave it only a light cleaning. I do not have a compatible terminal with which to test it, but every key responds normally to the touch - including those that use stabilizer bars.I do offer a 30 day return privilege, although return shipping is at the buyer's expense.
