This is a vintage CD-ROM drive and proprietaryinterface card for your vintage retro PC builds. This would suit a 286 or 386 build as it fits in the right time period for that! This is FULLY WORKING and COMES WITH DRIVER DISK!

The Mitsumi LUOO5S (sometimes incorrectly called LU005S) was a unique manual drawer pop-out style 5.25" bay drive. This is a single-speed 1x drive from the early days of Multimedia PCs, manufactured in March 1993 with a whopping 150k/sec transfer rate!.

Its in very nice condition, save for a bit of yellowing of the side plastics. It is fully working and reliable for data and audio CDs. The ISA interface card turns the analogue audio output into RCA connector for the backplane if you want to run those to external systems, alternatively plug the cable onto your soundcard internally. There's a DOS utility that lets you play/navigate audio CDs while you do other things too!

The drive pops out nicely, opens fine and has no problem reading official pressed CDs. It will struggle to read CD-R's which is common for early CD-rom drives. Burning your disks at 1x or 2x, and using the dense gold blank discs can alleviate this.

This setup is "plug n play" in that i've made it so you can install everything, and then run MTMCD.BAT from the floppy drive, it will install the drivers and set it up right away. It currently uses address $360 and IRQ10. You can change this with dips and software settings if you need to as well. The original CD installation software is on the disk too which will also set it up your autoexec.bat and config.sys automatically.
