ABOUT:For your consideration is another piece from my personal collection of retro gaming systems, a Toshiba Satellite Pro Pentium system with the base model passive matrix color screen. This unit has NO hard drive, but does have its caddy. Unit has been tested to POST, but does not include the original floppy drive so I was unable to test its ability to boot DOS or another OS. This is a clean project for parts, or ready for enthusiast Toshiba Satellite Pro 435CDS Laptop• Pentium CPU• 16MB RAM installed• CD-ROM in swappable bay (powers on, BIOS does not support CD boot)• 2.5" HDD bay (no hard drive included)• serial, parallel, modem, onboard audio• Power supply is internal, power cable is included• Battery is included (but is vintage, so is sold as non-functional)
• Laptop has been tested to POST, but cannot boot from CD-ROM so no further testing was AND TESTING: Laptop is in better than average condition and has no cracks or serious yellowing of the plastics. Keyboard is squishy but reasonably responsive for the age, tracepoint and soft-touch mouse buttons are in good shape and have not become gooey. The LCD has all the normal ghosting symptoms of a dull passive matrix is a used,barebones, vintage laptop that is offered ASIS for enthusiastrebuild or collecting. It is not a modern computer and will require tinkering to findcompatiblecomponents. I am offering this unit to another enthusiast with theunderstanding that the buyer is willing toundertake responsibility for the many repair and maintenance variables that come with antique computer components including such delicate tasks as floppy drive reconditioning and capacitor replacement.
