Well there's two schools of thought on that I guess.

For example here... If I've made 2100 posts (or answered 2100 questions) just cause some of them may be for older versions and the posts might be gone.... it wouldn't really be right to set me back to 200.

I look much more active and knowledgeable with 2100. And I have made that many posts.

With the title system, you wouldn't want an active user going from 'old hand' to 'newbie' overnight just because the board did some housecleaning. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />
