I don't exactly know how to say this. But there needs to be a button on the menu to go back to the board listing for the area you read that thread in. There is this uncanny way now.. When you are through reading the one thread you have opened, and then you NEED to use the back button or click on Main Index again. Then that Main Index does not reflect the amount of new posts in there.
Say you entered an area with 2 new threads. And both threads are 100+ posts long. That area would have 200 new posts. You read ONE threadd. Now there is NO WAY I would want to hit my back button that many times. So you click on Main Index. I have also since then forgotten about the other 100+ post thread.
If you do it that way, you MUST remember to open that area again to see the list of threads.
Basically we need a button to return to the initial thread listing scree.
