The search feature is never going to be real complex. When creating this portion I had 2 options. I could have gone with LIKE searches on the entire post and have the search engine be extremely slow as the number of messages grew. Or index keywords and have the search engine be extremely quick. One of my main goals for 3.0 was speed so I chose the second option. Because of this you will never see an extensive set of search features. I will be able to add in search by name and by date range, but I can't do much beyond that.
