Download the most recent version of ubb.classic - 6.7.3 (it's on the right side of the download page) - upgrade to that, then import into threads.
If you can't do it, you can either open a support ticket for groupee to do so, or I can for a reasonable fee - if you'd like me to look at it, pm me details.
