but would this be guaranteed to always work? for instance, in the event a graphic was displayed within the sidebar table that was wider than the width set by the 1 pixel gif?
anyway, i've got around this issue by explicitly setting the width of advertising graphics in each of the sidebars (ie, in the custom islands).
