With UBB.Classic the php file (aka the UBB Accelerator) just re-pipes data from the cache (and only utilizes files in the cache); you'll likely want to use some sort of html frame to do your data or hack the template files directly.
With UBB.Threads it's a whole lot easier to skin/tweak the design and the template files are a lot easier to play with (as they rarely contain code).
