I started approaching large companies to sponsor my niche webiste.
It was hard at first as they felt they had more important things to spend their money on. Now they come to me.
It's more work as they aren't really interested in banners - who looks at banners any more? They know that my site has the right sort of audience, so they want dedicated pages on which to advertise their products.
This works our very well, as if my members don't want to be bombarded with ads - they don't have to be. If they are interested in a specific product, they click on a single link at the top of the page.
