I have a perfect comprimise! Go and edit templates/default/showprofile.tpl, find:

<a href="mailto:{$Fakeemail}">{$Fakeemail}</a>
</td>

And replace it with:
Code
<td valign="top">&nbsp;</td>

... Wham, no email address shown ever ...

Though I much prefer just allowing people to set what they want their public email displayed as, hey, if they WANT it seen, then why not let them set it...

Not to mention, you can block guests viewing profiles, which would ban any non-logged in users which includes random bots.
