This error is mentioned numerous times with the search option; quite simply, edit libs/mysql.inc.php, change the "showerror" line from a 0 to a 1, upload file; it will now show the error to anyone who can see it.
You'll want to change this back when you're finished however, as it could identify db names and other data your users don't really need...
