thread and the 'poster info box' containing info like when 'registered' number of 'posts' and 'Loc' - is for the person who started the thread is about one inch wide horizontally, and for people who posted their replies the same section is about three hand span wide. The box which contains the reply/comment text is probably about ten hand spans long ie. pretty long.

Funny thing is the other topics I visited seem to be fine, may be this is the first topic I am navigating which was added after 7.4.1 update. By the way I am using Safari browser.
[color:#FF0000]P.S: It seems to be working ok under Fire Fox for Mac OS.
So it seems like something which was working for Safari prior to 7.4.1 is no longer functional for Safari
Yes it's definitely a post 7.4.1 problem since when I did a preview for this post I find same issues - meaning 7.4.1 has broken Safari some how.....
By the way when I tried editing this same post after having posted it, that particular page seemed ok, I could not see any stretched out or narrowed out boxes ....
So it seems the problem occurs not for new posts in topics started pre 7.4.1 update but for new topics started post 7.4.1
