UBB.threads PHP Forum Software Community Forums UBB.threads Version 7/8 Support Unable to connect to database server, please HELP!

I uploaded a new empty footer.php file and set it to RWRWRW (666)and it did not help.

I can open mysql on my hosts admin area and see the database is there but thats it. it's not my field at all.
any clues what could be wrong or how can i call the database to check if there is a connection??
