I was in that situation recently. I have been using hosting sites for a while now, some good - some not at all good. So I wanted to find a good option for the Forum. I looked around and what I wanted I really couldn't afford, but I ended up with a hosting solution that fit the pocketbook, exceeded my expectations, had a knowledgeable UBB and WordPress person and the switch was so so easy. What is so neat about having a hosting person who knows UBB is that if you have a problem they should be there to help you and there are some little tricks that you can do to make things easier to style and lots more tricks that just make things run so much better.

Cheap is rarely what you want to use for a host, cheap is ok for smaller websites (low traffic/low tranfers). Look at the price difference as the Value of a UBB and WP guru.
