I've found a bug in the moderator's tools, which has caused the loss of a post !
Now then, There was a post about John Hewitt last week, saying he'd passed on. As I *knew* a lot of people had met the guy, I madfe that a sticky.
Now *another* BSAOC guy has died, and agin, He was well known. So, NOT wanting to just make ANOTHER post sticky, I chose to us the MERGE option ?
I got the post ID Number for the John Hewitt post, and I merged the two, leaving a 'pointer' in place to direct users to the new 'merged' post ?
Well. What the bloody hell ?
What happened was this.
The post I chose to merge, stayed exactly where it was. The Post I told it to merge *WITH* has dissappeared? A pointer has appeared ... way...way .... down the list, but when you try to follow it, it says :
'Cannot find this in database'
As I said earlier ...
Arrrrrgh !!
