I turned off the members star rating years ago after one particularly petty cretin went about creating multiple accounts so that he could give 1 star to just about all the most valuable regulars.
Of course, I deleted all the phony accounts and banned the clown's IP, but after that I figured it was just easier overall to turn the feature off and leave it off.
Now here's an idea...
Have the rating system weigh the rating according to the rating of the member doing the rating.
Clear as mud?
But it would be way too much trouble to make such a feature work properly. Perhaps we could get the "class balance" gurus at Blizzard to work on it.
Not really worth it though.
