Your current version, UBB.Classic which is a Perl based forum solution, reached End of Life some time ago (just prior to when v7 was released on October 5, 2006; no new features are developed for it, and documentation/support is limited at best.

As Ruben pointed out, the new version is UBB.Threads and it is a PHP/MySQL based forum product which takes up significantly less resources on the hosted machine; support is current and it's actively being developed (now).

I am a Web Development Contractor, I do not work for UBBCentral. I have provided free User to User Support since the beginning of these support forums.
