Okay you probably have a incorrect path.
You have two paths to enter, the http path and the absolute path.
Plus the folder needs to have permissions to write to.

For permissions the folder should have at least 755 in chmod.

Then for paths
Avatar Upload Storage Directory:
you can get a starting point by visiting cp>paths&urls
Look at
Absolute PATH to Main Directory:

If I had to guess your path /Baalt/images/avatars/upload
should probably be like /home/Baalt/images/avatars/upload
for the Avatar Upload Storage Directory

For the http path it would be what you type in your web browser to get to it.

You also need to run the test link when done. it write a txt file to the folder needed to make it work
