Well, what you could do is take the "External Use" links (see the "Portal Layout" page in the control panel), then you'd format your page however you'd like for it to display, when using the PHP code from the External Links page to fill those content areas.

A vague example of how this would look would be how we have the "Recent Visitors" island on the forum at A Gardeners Forum, you can hide the title bar with CSS like what I did on the advertising block at Called Strike Three (client site).

Any customization after that would require a PHP developer to create a landing page to display the data how you'd like it.
