The location of the typos is actually in three files within the languages/english/ folder.
languages/english/mess_handler.php
languages/english/mess_reply.php
languages/english/viewmessage.php
The gammer typo was introduced in February 2009 with UBB.threads 7.5.0.
The three typos have been corrected and will be fixed for UBB.threads 7.7.4
