Ruben, from experience I have had trouble sometimes when upgrading PHP. it turns out that some settings I did on to avoid trouble changed back when I upgraded to a newer PHP. From my novice knowledge I suggest that you move to PHP 7.4.33 or at least 7.4 before you upgrade to
UBBT 8. My suggestion is a sort of qualified guess based on what I experienced.
