0 isn't null, it's a value of 0; you can clean your database a bit to set empty fields that are null to null:
SQL Query
UPDATE `ubbt_USER_PROFILE` SET `USER_BIRTHDAY` = NULL WHERE `USER_BIRTHDAY` = '0';
