Well we recommend all of your uploads, tmp, and gallery folders to be 777 for world write. Your error you PMed me sounds like the directory can't be read, can you check that your file system paths are correct, and the paths set for your uploads are also correct
This error has shown up in the control panel and i am not sure if it is related to the image issue that I posted.
