Yes, there is a way to do it with advanced css. You will need to edit the code produced by UBB.t and then create a custom CSS stylesheet to handle the "a" tag when it is part of another class. It's best, I think to get the sidebar design in hand before moving on to this level of css.
It will look something like this:
.regular-text {color:black}
a.regular-text {color:blue}
.regular-text a {color:blue}
Rememember that cross browser compatibility will be tricky to get.
Again -- get the basics of your layout in hand before you begin to worry about this.
