Currently the only way to do this would be to do a SQL command. What you need to do is find the Post # for the initial post in the thread. Should be able to get that by looking in your URL after clicking on the thread and look for the Number=##### portion. Once you have the number you can change the title of that thread with the following SQL command:

UPDATE w3t_Posts SET B_Subject='New Title' WHERE B_Number='#####'

Not an easy solution, but it will work. Good news is that in 6.4 we are redoing the poll system and you will be able to edit the subject and body of posts with polls in them, still not the poll itself however.
