OK I manually edited the ini field and moved everything so it was in a /forums/ directory beneath my main directory. So this is the main page now -

http://butterfly.bellaonline.com/forums/ubbthreads.php

When I try to click on a given forum the URL should be

http://butterfly.bellaonline.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=postlist&Board=364&page=1

but that immediately changes in the top of the browser window to

http://butterfly.bellaonline.com/forums/{URL}/ubbthreads.php/ubb/cfrm

and gives a 404.

So it didn't help to have it in a subdirectory, the error is the same. Where else could that {URL} be coming from?
