When I run "perl hello.cgi" in my terminal the script runs but when I try to run it from my browser I get the error.

the permissions to the cgi-bin files is 777 (I´ve tried 755).
I´ve got the AddHandler for cgi and the Options +ExecCGI for my script alias in the httpd.conf - file.

My Apache error_log:

(2) No such file or directory: exec of /homehttpd/hello.cgi failed

Premature en of script headers: /homehttpd/cgi-bin/hello.cgi failed

It doesn´t matter if a try to run a different cgi file. The error is always the same.


Can some one help me?

In the hello.cgi file, did you make sure the path to perl was set correctly on the first line for your server?

I've got exactly the same problem as "Spoted". Perl works, no doubt. I am using another program with Perl and it works. I am using SuSE 6.1 with perl 5.00502, cgi works only when I use it with the console "perl hello.cgi" The server gives the same errors.
