UBB.threads PHP Forum Software Community Forums General Suggestions and Feedback Admin Upgrade for Archiving?

Would it be possible to get any type of archiving option setup in the admin section when the upgrades are made?

I think there needs to be a way to do one of a few things:

1) Take posts older than x days, close them to new posts, and either move them to an archive section of that board, to another archive board, or to a text file...

2) Same as above but remove the files instead of close them.

3) Just basically an archive to text feature, but keep everything on the forum as it is.

I'm sure there are more possibilities but I think archiving is one of the few missing features of this forum...

Agreed - archiving is essential for my board plans.

If this is to be implemented, I think it would be best to transform archived threads into static HTML pages (with the reply and edit buttons removed) and have them still linked from the board index like regular threads, but marked as archived. This would reduce server load when people read older threads.

True, that's a good suggestion... I would also like to see the option to archive to a file, like a text file in simple thread by thread flat format listing.
