It is difficult, if not completely impossible to properly diagnose most UBB problems without knowing which version of the UBB you are using, as well as the FULL URL to your ultimatebb.cgi file, (NOT a link to your webpage). Please provide this information. Thanks.
A significant pourcentage of the BB are used inside the intranet of companies. Most of them will not, for safety reasons, be available from the internet.
Hence, what you are asking for, beyond the release number (6.0.5), is not possible to provide.
Unfortunately, we can do nothing more from here... We'll need to look at the UBB directly to see what's causing it NOT to regenerate the file properly...
(You HAVE checked permissions on the search index directory, right? Just making sure...)
All my forums are indeed private but a couple of them, by mistake actually.
The fact that private forums are not taken into accounts in daily indexes is not documented I believe. Which makes the feature useless as soon as at least one forum is define private: either this issue is fixed or you add a new setup option to hide the feature 'today's active topics' from the main menu.
If you are using private forums to hide the entire contents of the board, you may wish to switch the board into members only mode instead - that way users will need to be members before performing any function. That would allow you to switch the private forums to public forums (see this thread for important information on doing so) and get the daily index working again.
The only way to get rid of the link would be turning off searching entirely.
Yes, I believe that this option to switch the board only came with 6.0 and, at the time the bb was not set, in release 5.x, the only way I found was to make the forum private.
I had effectively some pbs in the past switching forum from public to private or the way-other. I alreay saw the thread you mentionned in the past, but I was until now reluctant to do this since I manage 40 forums.
Thanks anyway for your continuous help and support.
