UBB.threads PHP Forum Software Community Forums UBB.classic UBB.classic 6 Support I deleted the Admin user account...oops stupid me.

I accidentally deleted the Administrator account on my UBB. I wanted to change my name from Admin to something else and I deleted the Admin account not realizing that I should have just made a new account on that same login name. Can anyone help? Is there an easy answer to solve this solution. I cannot edit my board now because I can only try to edit my board as a "junior member" and there is no set administrator for my board. Please help ASAP. Thank you all in advance.

can you not upload back the members file?

See I am a moron when it comes to cgi and perl etc. I had someone install my UBB for me. Which files will I need to reupload? BTW, thanks for the quick reply.

To change your status to administrator, edit your profile. (If your member number is 1234, your profile is 00001234.cgi in the members directory.)

change the 5th line to AdminWrite&
change the 9th line to Administrator

I cant edit my profile because I cant login to my board at all. So what files do I need to reupload in order for it to recognize me as the Administrator? Pleeeaase help. AK?

The edit your profile comment was slightly unclear. <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

You have to do it by FTP. So download your member file, make the relevant changes, and upload back. ALL IN ASCII!
