I would like to have a LOGOUT added to the control panel so it would log me out and remove my cookie so that IF I was on a shared computer and forgot and closed the browser someone couldn't come along and jump on the board as me in the CP.

I did wonder about the auto-login w/ CP, and I really love how I can just click a link (when logged into my forums) to get to CP. But I suppose you're right, a log out would be nice, too, if you need it.

I like the idea; so you're talking about a link or some sort of javascript set to do an action if your browser closes?

Something. Right now it just isn't all that secure (IMHO)

not keen - as it would also mean you having to retype your password to log into the CP everytime.

This part would suck. I was agreeing to a logout link on the cp

but to log out there must be a separate login

it'd be no different than how it works now, the logout link would simply log you out just like the current logout link does; should you choose to use it...

then why not log out from the forums??

if you log out from the control panel and stay logged in as an admin - how do you get back into the CP 30 seconds later, when you realise you forgot something?

Cas they just login to use the cp; and they need a quick way to logout (basically say they're at a friends house) so give them the ability to not forget to logout ...

just doesn't make sense - unless I am missing the obvious...

admin logs into site on shared server
admin enters CP
admin logs out of CP, but stays logged into forums (that is the proposal from what I have read)
admin then needs to go back into CP - he can't just click on CP link, as he has logged out - so the only way is to log out of the forums and log back in.

Surely this is not correct?

I think they're saying that logging out of the CP will log the Admin out of the Forums as well. Just a shortcut, in case Admin wants to log out completely

We want a link in the cp, that does the same thing, this link is the same as the above link:

Of course... that could easily just be added into the template.

oh I see - it is a log out within the CP to log you out of the forums, rather than having to return to the forums and then log out
