We are attempting to ban a number of IP ranges from posting on our boards due to problems with spammers. Will UbbThreads recognize the following format if entered into the banned IP list:
58.0.0.0/7
60.0.0.0/7
196.192.0.0/13
202.0.0.0/7*
210.0.0.0/7
If not, what is the best way to ban these ranges.
Thanks for the suggestions.

The IP ban list works on a substring basis starting to the left, so the following list will achieve what you desire:
58.
60.
196.192.
202.
210.
Note that you may have better success using wildcards at the server level, i.e. in an .htaccess file.

You can ban IP ranges in Threads7 just by entering:
Class C: 0.0.0.%
Class B: 0.0.%
Class A: 0.%
Also, this topic is now two years old, something tells me they found a solution since they never replied.

Well, Thanks for your replies. Im only a stupid analphabetic living in the PC-stoneage and dont have the money for an upgrade to the mighty UBB v.7. Instead of wasting money on girls, boose and support tickets, im trying working out my own solution, and who knows... Maybe one day, I have saved enough money to an upgrading

no worries - we would recommend the upgrade to 7.x - it should only be the cost of a renewal - $125 - but we will still try and assist where possible with older versions.
